Many thanks for making my balance program enjoyable and quite effective. The Institute's approach was professional from diagnosis to setting up continuing exercises for my use after the office visits were concluded. I was particularly impressed by the difference a relatively small amount of exercise could make in my balance and in my stamina. The weekly Institute visits kept me focused on the discipline. Now it's my responsibility to follow up and continue a program that I know works. Although I am not ready to do a Wallenda walk across the Grand Canyon, I am ready to get on with my life. ( And my tennis game.)
I would recommend you and the Institute to others without reservation.
“I was diagnosed 24 years ago with benign bilateral acoustic neuromas, which have destroyed most of my hearing and affected my balance. The last 3 to 4 years I’ve had t give up many things I enjoy. I gave up riding a bicycle, aerobics, working in the yard and mowing the lawn. Having always done these activities it has been disappointing to say the least. However, those are all things I can do without. What I can’t do without is balance! I fell and broke my collar bone as a result of bad balance. My doctor referred me to the Balance Institute. Hence, my success story. While I will probably never ride a bicycle again, I have started walking for exercise regularly, working out at the fitness center, and am able to go up and down stairs again. I got all that back within 7 weeks through new knowledge and exercises from my therapist, Sue. She was always kind, helpful and compassionate. From the first phone call to the last visit everyone was courteous, kind and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Balance Institute of Indiana.”
For a number of years I had problems for vertigo. Normally my bouts lasted for no longer than four days. However, I began experiencing bouts that lasted for more than a week and became very concerned. I saw my doctor and she recommended a specialist, who then recommended the Balance Institute of Indiana. I met with my assigned therapist, Sharon, the following week and continued therapy for my vertigo with her for four weeks. Each week she gave me exercises and suggestions that helped me considerably. On the second visit I happened to mention some other health concerns I had, and Sharon was able to help me with those as well, especially problems related to my blood pressure. I could not believe how quickly and competently she could identify my problems and suggest ways to help me. Sharon solved two health problems for me and I am very grateful for her kindness, understanding and knowledge.
